This new online course for 2023 will introduce you to the key principles of Visual Merchandising, Window Dressing / Design and Store Layout techniques. Applying these techniques and incorporating them into your own branded Visual Merchandising Manual and guidelines. Research shows that by creating bespoke VM guidelines within a manual format can help to achieve effective and consistent presentation standards across retail sites and stores.
Learn how to create and structure a manual document which contains easy to implement visual examples, giving the user an overview of the key VM principles and how these can then be successfully implemented across the shop floor. Create a learning document where VM techniques are clearly explained within the visuals to ensure effective implementation, even for staff members who are not professionally trained in Visual Merchandising. We will focus upon creating a easy to implement set of planograms which will be put together on a PowerPoint document.
Course attendees will apply these Visual Merchandising principles to create and design their own set of guidelines which can be formatted together as a VM Manual following a set project brief. These live, interactive classes are held in an online virtual classroom, using the online video conferencing program, Zoom. Zoom provides a live interactive experience between the student and tutor. Students and tutor can share screens to view presentations and feedback on student’s course work.

Practical task of designing your own Window and in store promotional area using a design medium of your choice. This project brief is set at the end of your first lesson, which can be completed over the first week and submitted on your second lesson.
