Visual Merchandising Bespoke Training at Gails Bakery
It’s been a busy couple of months at VMC, thank you to all our new and existing customers for booking Visual Merchandising training and courses through my business.
This month I carried out bespoke Visual Merchandising for Gail’s Bakery. The training held at their Kentish Town Bakery in London gave the chance for the training to be both theory based and practical, where we could refer to specific examples on site in the bakery.
My bespoke training is tailored to the businesses who I work with, focusing upon the core Visual Merchandising principles and areas which are specific to the businesses requirements.
Training over the past couple of months has focused upon the effective installation of Christmas displays and visual merchandising instore. We discussed how today’s retailers are constantly pushing the boundaries on what we as a customer expect from a physical shopping experience. Creating festive theatre and aspiration for customers by introducing theatrical displays, instagramable moments, brand take overs, food and leisure experiences being key. Department stores and super brands are aware of the importance of maintaining today’s customer expectation by creating immersive instore retail experiences and a fantastic example of this can be seen at Selfridges with this year’s collaboration with Disney, which runs throughout their store windows, corner shop pop up and instore experience.
Keeping your retail display theme consistent at Christmas time is important because it strengthens both your brand message and the customer’s shopping experience. This creates a strong visual identity; a cohesive theme that ties together the windows, in-store displays, signage and packaging. This makes your store instantly recognisable and memorable during a very competitive season. It enhances storytelling and increases emotional appeal for your customer.
Christmas shopping is emotional and often nostalgic for customers, so a consistent theme tells a story that draws consumers in, making them feel part of the festive atmosphere.
