VM Training For The HTA
This month has been busy teaching on the Visual Merchandising Short Courses for London College of Fashion & Central Saint Martins.
I have also been working with the HTA on providing Visual Merchandising Training to their Garden Centre partners. The first Garden Centre I have worked with on this project was Wych Cross in East Sussex. The team at Wych Cross have been amazing to work with and have been really up beat about the training and then putting their new skills into practice. The training involved a 1 day group course held in January, which was written to meet the specific learning needs of the business.
Then I returned this week to carry out a practical day to work with the course attendees on their areas on the sales floor and outdoor selling areas. The staff had made great progress since my last visit and we achieved some great eye catching selling areas this week. We created a Spring themed focal point at the store entrance , worked on re merchandising the condiment offer to create link selling opportunities by merchandising this with home accessories. We moved fixtures that were blocking main walkways, to encourage customer flow and re merchandised key hot spot sections within the outdoor plant and shrub area.
The team at Wych Cross all agreed that they found attending the course and also having the benefit of a practical day was extremely useful for them to put their new found skills into practice and having me on site to offer practical / hands on advice.
Please find further information on the bespoke retail courses which I offer on the page below:
